Hit the Open Road for a Trip
Posted on 07/25/2011
When you think of summer, your mind goes to a number of activities: reading a good book poolside, catching a baseball game, teeing off on the back nine and games in the yard. But when was the last time you thought about hitting the open roads? It’s time to dust off the old state road map and choose a destination.
When you’re planning your trip, get off the Interstate and get on the road less traveled. This gives you the opportunity to run into quaint small towns. You’re certain to encounter unique stores, great food and interesting stories.
The beauty of the countryside has inspired famous poems, stories and paintings. By taking a road trip, you can actually experience these works in reality. The backdrop of your trip could be the never-ending cornfields of Nebraska, the windmill farms of Iowa or the vast landscape in Montana. Wherever you go, you’re going to be inspired by something that even words can’t describe.
Oftentimes, it’s the travel companions that make all the difference on a road trip. It will be a bonding experience because of the shared stories you’ll certainly create. So fill up the tank, grab your friends and choose your own adventure.
