Take Out and Dine In
Posted on 09/12/2011
It seems as the calendar turns to fall months, that calendar fills rather quickly with a crop of new activities. Why not take a break from your busy schedule and make tonight a take out kinda night. Here are a few things you can do while enjoying the fall season.
Fall TV
This week marks the beginning of many television shows’ new seasons. It’s time to pull out the TV Guide and check out to see when your favorite shows return and what’s new. Some anticipated shows include The X Factor and Person of Interest. The Office has viewers wondering who will become the boss and Modern Family will start their season on a dude ranch. You can DVR a few hours worth of programming, choose some takeout that compliments the shows and become a couch potato for the evening.
Family Game Night
If you want a little more action, go to the game closet and grab your family’s favorites. Maybe it’s time for a marathon game of Monopoly, Settlers of Catan or Risk. If you want a few laughs grab Apples to Apples, Pictionary or Balderdash. Taboo and Catchphrase can make for some friendly competition. This kind of night calls for some heavy appetizers and finger foods so the food doesn’t get in the way of the action.
Fire Pit
It’s a wonderful time of year to dine outside. As the chill sets in, start up the fire pit and settle around with some good fall comfort food. Of course you can’t have a fire without some s’mores.
