Capture Autumn’s Finest with Photography
Posted on 10/24/2011
Summer has given way to the earthy tones, oranges and yellows that are the backdrop to autumn scenery. Those colors, along with ever changing Mother Nature, make for a beautiful background when shooting photos. But you don’t have to be a professional to get out and take amazing photos. Just grab a camera and head outdoors to witness some of nature’s significance during this time of year.
It doesn’t matter what type of camera you use. Maybe you’ve got a high-tech SLR camera, or maybe you don’t even know what SLR means. Although fancy cameras are nice, you don’t need one to get a great photo. Even if you don’t own a point-and-shoot camera, your cell phone might be able to take significant quality photos for its small size.
So make sure your battery is charged, your memory card is in, and you’re ready for an afternoon exploring the great outdoors.
If you go out by yourself, try a busy location such as a park. There will be plenty of nature scenes for you to shoot, and the multitude of people will add some action to your nature shots.
If you can round up a group of people, you can turn your outdoor adventure into a photo shoot. Take turns posing in fun ways with the beautiful hues behind you. Remember that different angles and creative approaches to photography make the best photos. So instead of taking a straight-on approach, try getting above, below or angled away from the person. Don’t be afraid to experiment. Nobody will ever have to see the photos you want to delete, and you may up with an awesome photo when you least expect it.
When you’re all done, come back and upload your pictures onto the computer. Go through and see what you’ve captured. Try using a site like picnik.com to edit your photos. This free site allows you to turn photos to black and white, bring out certain colors or even draw all over the pictures you’ve taken. Stay in touch with your creative side after you’re back home by using a site like this to continue the fun.
